Spots and Stripes Learn to Read

Every day when Ms. Green goes to work at her flower shop, Spots and Stripes go to school. The class is learning to read, and Spots is having a hard time. But not Stripes. She’s a great reader who quickly learns that helping a struggling Spots brings unexpected joy.

“     "Everyone come in and take your seats, please. Who wants to read?" he asks. Stripes raises her hand. Stripes wants to read first. Spots does not raise his hand. Spots does not want to read.  ”
